How to prepare for an interview?

So you have passed the first stage of the selection and got through to the interview. Now lets get this job by getting the interview absolutely perfect. The more time you spend on preparation the better it will be for you. This is how to do it.

1.       Location – Make sure have all the detail of where, when and what day the interview is taking place. To estimate journey time and familiarise yourself with the building. Plan a journey there a few days before. Make sure, you the have contact details of someone you can call if you’re running late.

2.       Preparation – Prepare for the interview by practicing answer for common interview question (take a look at my other blogs). Related the answer to the job description as possible. Find out as much as you can about company and its competitor. This will show the interviewer that you are keen and what to work for this company. Boost about the company. It makes interviewers feel good about them self and they company. Keep practicing these answers until you can say them without the use of paper and key cards. A great way to practice these questions is in front of a mirror. Its sound funny but it’s really effective.

3.       Dress wear – make sure you wear the correct dress wear for the interview. Most interviews require you to wear a suit. Dress and groom smartly. Employers take note of how a person has dress to the interview.

4.       Earlier birds – always arrive thirty minutes before the interview time. This will give you plenty of time to calm your nerves or fill in any application the company may provided. Employers like to people to attend earlier its show good time management. Make sure to take the right documents the employer has asked for.

5.       Take a deep breath – To keep yourself calm Smile to everyone you come in contact with. You may be nervous and scared but don’t let them know.  Take deep breath to relax yourself. If you have a few minutes, think of something that makes your smile. It could be a love one or a location.

6.       Thank the interviewer – Thank the interviewer for the time they have take to conduct the interview. First impression are important but it’s the last impressions that really last.
